The Nature School of Philadelphia

Connection

Connections with other people, communities and to themselves offer children the security that allows them to be independent and develop creative solutions.

Reflection

Questioning ourselves, others and the world around us is a humbling process and is essential to understanding and evolving as a form of mindfulness.

Self Awareness

We encourage self reflection as a way to gain a deeper understanding of how our personal strengths and weaknesses can be used to develop deeper relationships and better our community.

Diversity

Fostering appreciation of all life forms at the molecular, cellular, and organismal level builds understanding of our interconnected web of life.

Respect

Honoring our selves, each other, and our environment by showing integrity in our thoughts and actions.

Authenticity

The daily practice of letting go of who we think we’re supposed to be and embracing who we are (Brene Brown). Our students will experience the freedom to explore and be their unique selves.

Balance

Appreciation and acknowledgment of each function every species has in the role of achieving ecological balance. The earth is like our bodies that are made up of millions of organisms that as a whole help to maintain our overall health.
